The oilfield has been in Brett’s blood all of his life. From a very early age he would spend time at his dads well service yard or ride around with his grandfather to check on the family’s oil production. In 1995, while in college, he started his first manufacturing business, selling it 3 years later. In the 25 years since, Brett has remained in the energy sector and has been involved with more than $250mm in business sales or acquisitions.
In 1997, Brett along with his partners started Taylor Industries, and over the next six years they built the company into the largest producer of workover rigs and related equipment in the US, and second largest in the world. At its peak, the company was producing a new rig every 18
hours! Taylor Industries was sold in 2004 to Wexford Capital, a private equity firm focusing on the energy services sector. This group was the funding behind many OFS and E&P start-ups, including Diamondback, Great White, Mammoth, and many others.
From 2004 to 2009 Brett worked with the integrations team as they continued to acquire OFS businesses across the sector. In 2010, Brett negotiated the sale of Taylor to Basic Energy Services and joined their executive as VP of Manufacturing. From 2010 to 2021 he held various positions on Basic’s executive leadership team, including VP of Completion Services, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Assets Officer. In these roles, Brett was an active part of their M&A team, continuing to build and hone his expertise with OFS and M&A. Brett is an entrepreneur at heart and created Turn One in 2021 to help other entrepreneurs build and strengthen their businesses. Energy Acquisition Advisors, is an expansion of Turn One’s advisory services, providing sell-side business brokerage services to small cap OFS companies. Brett’s deep knowledge of the oilfield services industry, his vast M&A experience, and his extensive relationships throughout the industry position him ideally to lead EAA's team as the premier brokerage firm for small cap OFS companies.
