The oilfield has been in Brett’s blood all of his life. From a very early age he would spend time at his dads well service yard or ride around with his grandfather to check on the family’s oil production. In 1995, while in college, he started his first manufacturing business, selling it 3 years later. In the 25 years since, Brett has remained in the energy sector and has been involved with more than $250mm in business sales or acquisitions.
In 1997, Brett along with his partners started Taylor Industries, and over the next six years they built the company into the largest producer of workover rigs and related equipment in the US, and second largest in the world. At its peak, the company was producing a new rig every 18
hours! Taylor Industries was sold in 2004 to Wexford Capital, a private equity firm focusing on the energy services sector. This group was the funding behind many OFS and E&P start-ups, including Diamondback, Great White, Mammoth, and many others.
